What We Hear
1 Samuel 8:4-11,16-20
Mark 3:20-35

The true leader of the community of faith is God. In today’s readings, we discover impulses that resist and reject God’s good leadership and vision – impulses that may mirror our own challenges in seeking and following God’s leading in our own lives.

NEXT WEEK:
Sunday Worship: 14 June 2015
Theme:
What We Perceive
Focus Scripture: Mark 4:26-34

Prayer Points:- Give thanks for an increase in the numbers attending Mainly Music. Please pray for: Youth Band for more band members please; Ian Pinel and his recent cancer diagnosis. Pray for the beginning of a new start for our Children and Youth Leader – Sonja and family. Judy Qiu needs rental accommodation, please.

Holiday Programme Leader:- Please pray for a leader for our School Holiday Programme. Shirley and William have been carrying this role but are unable to for much longer. We can probably manage to arrange cover for this coming July but the September – October one will be very difficult.

Visit to Ian Pinel:- Lorraine is asking Ian if we can come and visit him. If he agrees, I have 4 seats in my car – so if you would like to go please let Lorraine know. When we have a day and time I’ll contact you. First come, first seated!! Thanks L

APRIL FINANCE REPORT TO CONGREGATION – THE FINANCE TEAM

    NOTES:
  1. Giving in April was below budget but other income made up the deficit
  2. Giving for Special purposes has amounted to over $10,000 so far this year. This has met the costs of the chairs for the upstairs hall and enabled us to start to build p a fund to cover the costs of the Children and Youth Leader. We have enough to cover about 4 months and beyond this we are praying for more giving – otherwise we shall draw upon our reserves.
  3. A bequest to come from the estate of Ron Ashton of $10000 will add to our reserves. We miss you Ron and thank you.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFUL SUPPORT AND PRAISE THE LORD!
