"A New Vision"
Acts 9:1-6
Psalm 30, Revelation 5:11-14, John 21:1-19

BACKGROUND: Speak Out God’s loving ways cannot be contained. Like the ripples made when a stone is tossed into calm water, the Spirit works through people and communities whose words and deeds bear witness to God, who raised Jesus to life. God calls all such witnesses to accountability and forgiveness. God still speaks, inviting all to receive the Spirit and follow Christ.
Acts 5:27-32 (NIV)
27 The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. 28 “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” 29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. 32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

Methodist Festival of Song - Sunday April 10th, 7pm at Pitt St.

We are hoping to fill Pitt St Church for this significant event which aims to bring together the whole Methodist family across the Auckland region. If you love Methodist singing this will be for you! The Festival event will include some great hymns, choirs from the Samoan, Fijian, Tongan, and English, sections of the Church and hopefully a Korean choir, and a Hindi choir. In addition Robyn Allen Goudge will play the harp and sing a solo for us. There is truth in the saying that “Methodism was born in song”. Singing to the glory of God is a significant part of our shared Methodist heritage no matter where we come from – we can thank Charles Wesley for that! Let’s celebrate our faith in song!
